EU Flag

Let's create the European Union flag! Here is the specification, from Wikipedia:

One star

The key element of the EU flag is a circle with twelve stars. Complete the activity Star to define a parameterized function that will allow you to create stars with any number of vertices, any size, any angle, and any color.

Once you have completed the activity, save the star function in your toolbox (check this guided activity to learn how to use the toolbox).

Your Task!

Call the star function from your toolbox to create a gold star with 5 vertices, each with an angle of 36 degrees. The circumscribing circle should have a diameter equal to 2/9 of the UNIT, as shown in the specification.

A circle of stars

According to the specification shown above, the flag contains twelve identical stars arranged in a circle. The stars are evenly spaced, every 30 degrees. Their center has a distance of 2/3 of the UNIT from the center of the circle. The stars should all be pointing upwards.

Create a circle of stars by composing twelve stars. Try to complete the task first by yourself. If you need help, expand the hints below.

Hint on a trick to position a star at a distance from the center

Use pin and compose to compose the star with a transparent rectangle.

Hint on a trick to keep the stars pointing upwards

You can rotate the star by a negative angle before composing it with the distancing rectangle, and then rotate the whole composition back by the same angle.
