Peace Sign

This is the peace sign:

peace sign

You probably thought of the ring, and maybe of four different spokes? One spoke points upwards. The other three spokes point downwards, with 45 angles between the them.

Historical Origin

The peace sign actually is a slightly different composition. It is a composition of two letters! Did you know that?

The peace sign was designed for the nuclear disarmament movement. It represents the composition of two letters — N (nuclear) and D (disarmament) — in the flag semaphore system:

ND

Measurements

If the line thickness is assumed to be 1 unit, then the outer diameter is assumed to be 11 units. Thus, the length of a spoke, which goes from the center to the inner edge of the ring, is (11 - 2) / 2 = 4.5 units.

Implementation

You probably want to create auxiliary functions, such as ring or spoke.

Hint 1: To create the ring, compose a smaller white circle and a larger black circle.

Hint 2: To compose the ring and a spoke, pin the spoke at center of their short edge.
